Bernie Lambe – President A former line officer with a background in Personnel, Bernie Lambe is perhaps most well known for his work on the Joint Staff/J1 in the mid-1990s as the principal staff action officer coordinating the Department of Defense program to create a managed care medical benefit – what came to be known as TRICARE. His extensive Joint experience provides him with a deep understanding of how all Services operate. After leaving the Air Force in 1998, he joined a small Washington DC-based Federal Health Care consulting firm, leaving after five years as Vice President and having assisted the company in growing the company from 30 to more than 500 employees. After consulting with the Army’s Asymmetrical Warfare Office on front line medical support projects, he joined the Skyline Team as President in September 2009. His association with Skyline, however, began in 2005, when he assisted Mr Rhoades in preparing the winning proposal for the NGB Transition Assistance Advisor contract. A 1979 graduate of East Carolina University (Magna Cum Laud), his honors include: Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities; Air Force ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate; Phi Sigma Pi Outstanding Graduate; and recognition by Phi Beta Kappa as a top liberal arts major. He has a Masters of Public Administration (Summa Cum Laud) from Golden Gate University. He is a graduate of Armed Forces Staff College and a Distinguished Graduate of Air Command and Staff College. His military awards include Personnel Manager of the Year at two Major Air Commands, and the Gerrit D. Foster Outstanding Military Personnel Office (Davis-Montham AFB, AZ); he was awarded the Defense Superior Service Medal upon the culmination of his 20-year career of service. He is married to the former Dana Nystrom of Buffalo, New York, and has two sons: Chris, 20, and Bryan, 18. |
